Oenophilia… Don’t know what that means?! The definition is, a love or obsession with wine. A word to describe me pretty accurately. In my opinion, wine is not a drink to get you white girl wasted, its more of an object that can take you to a different culture, or place, just like food can. There are vineyards all over the world, both big and small that make their own wine, each and every one being very different. A glass of wine to me…its a conversation piece, it is a way to unwind, relax and soak in the beauty around you. Whether it’s the beauty in your own home, someone else’s home, at a backyard bbq, at a vineyard, in a wine cellar, or at your favorite restaurant, it always leaves a memory and makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
One of my favorite things to do, is try new restaurants. I love new experiences, and eating through culture & overall just taking in the atmosphere. I am a sucker for atmosphere in a restaurant.
We are all generally drawn to elegant things, and when guests are presented with a spread that is tempting to the eyes, it can, in fact make it taste that much better. When building a charcuterie board, what you choose to use to serve, believe it or not, plays a really big role in your presentation.
This Thursday I’d like to take you to Greece, through my eyes (&stomach) at least lol. Santorini Greece, described in 3 words .. breathtaking, magnificent, stunning, life-changing (that may have been 4ish words..opps!)
There are so many beautiful places in NYC, so many hidden treasures, and still some speakeasy’s that are a must see. But how about a hidden gem tucked away behind a functioning pawn shop. I am talking about the wondrous Beauty & Essex.
Monstrosity shakes, gourmet fries & B.Y.O.B … need I say more?!
When you think of baseball season, what comes to mind? When you think of baseball season, what FOOD comes to mind?!
…Something about being in the kitchen and watching recipes be created was always fascinating to me.
